    I just verified my setup. XPsp2, Office 2007, IE 7. I am one of the SharePoint admins in my world and our mht files open in IE and not with Word. Now if I need to edit the file Word will open. When I hold the Ctrl key down and click it forces another IE tab to open the document and not open in the same tab I'm currently in.
