WSS 2.0 and UNC

Trying to figure out how to be able to access WSS 2.0 via the UNC. For example, my site is https://sitename/sites/bill

I am trying to UNC to \\sitenameURL\sites\bill\doclibraryname

Am I going about this wrong? I get the error 'No network provider given the network path'
