names in red in my table?

names in red in my table?

I made a table that has a column that draws on another list of names, so the type of column is "lookup".  Is this why the name that is selected in a cell is red?  When I click on it it leads to a page that simply restates the name - pretty useless to me.  I'd love it if it led to that person's email.! Can this be done? and if not can the red be turned off?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

It's in red because that is the hyperlink color of your site theme. SharePoint thinks it's being helpful by providing that link....

Here is one scenario where having that link could be helpful-- Say one list is for Orders and the other is for Customers. The Orders list has a look-up column for Customers. If you were looking an order detail you could could click on the Customer name in the linked table (the one you said is showing up in red) and be directed to that customer profile. While this is just one example I'm sure you can think of other ways it would be helpful on your site.

However, if you don't want this to appear you could open the page with SharePoint Designer or FrontPage and remove the hyperlink.

    Cheers!

    Kevin
