New version 2.0 of the SharePartXXL Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint is available for free evaluation

    New version 2.0 of the SharePartXXL Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint is available for free evaluation

    Starting today the new version 2.0 of the SharePartXXL Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint is available for download with a lot of new and improved features:

    • Additional Category Tree Web Part that can be re-used on any page
    • Additional category-based Tag Cloud Web Part with flexible category root. It can be placed on the category-based sites or any other pages.
    •  Additional Category Information Web Part is included. It can be placed on the category-based sites or any other pages und will display additional information about the currently selected category, e.g. description, related category links with items count, synonyms etc.
    • In the category list Related Categories will be available for cross-tree links.
    • Synonyms are supported in the category list.
    • Categories can now be assigned in datasheet view too.
    • Categorization Rules can be added to the category.
    • Category suggestions are greatly improved with an internal categorizer and connectors to several external categorizers.
      Licenses for connectors to external categorizers will be available in later in 2008.
    • Several different taxonomies can be better handled by setting a root category for the category column of each item list.
    • The category-based meta-data sites now supports templating. So you will have better control about the look & feel and any web parts that are placed on this sites.
    • More flexible navigation features (e.g. automatic redirection to result list).
    • Improved category import / export features.
    • The taxonomy administration was improved with a Taxonomy Management Center (for task management) and a Taxonomy Configuration Center (for custom settings).
    • Improved logging features are provided.

    The upgrade to version 2.0 will be provided cost-free for all licensed earlier versions.
