    Security Settings for web.config file

These are the default security settings on the web.config file in SPS 2003.

    NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:F
    BUILTIN\Administrators:F
    <Server Name>\STS_WPG:(special access:)
                           READ_CONTROL
                           SYNCHRONIZE
                           FILE_GENERIC_READ
                           FILE_READ_DATA
                           FILE_READ_EA
                           FILE_READ_ATTRIBUTES

I want to prevent changes to & overwriting of this file. Can these security settings be changed or the file set to read-only?
