Bulk Check in?

    Bulk Check in?

My users often upload a dozen or more documents to SP using the mapped drive.  They then have to go into SP and manually check in each document.  We have tried uploading multiple docs from within SP but they still have to be manually checked in.  Is there a way to bulk check them in?

    Thanks.

    Re: Bulk Check in?

Click Site Actions / Site Settings
    Click Content and Structure
Navigate to the folder of choice
Check multiple documents at will and select Actions / Check in

Note: If any of the documents are not checked in, the system will do nothing for those documents but check in the ones that are chekced out.  this means you can select all documents if you wish and check them in with one click.

    Hope this helps,
    Paul

Thanks.  That was helpful.  However, I was hoping there was a way for the users to do this.

    Re: Bulk Check in?

As the Site Actions is hidden from Members, I see your point.  Short of custom develpment to expose this functionality, the only thing I could suggest for Members would be to add a link to the Navigation bar which points to the Content and Structure for the Site Collection.  Something like:

    http://contoso.com/ContosoSupport/_Layouts/sitemanager.aspx?Source=/_layouts/settings.aspx

    Re: Bulk Check in?

    Hi,

Does this function available only in MOSS and not in WSS? I'm using WSS and can't find what you reffered too.

Do you know of a way to bulk check-in multiple documents in WSS 3.0 ?

    Thanks!
