    Document templates

    Is there an easy way to attach hundreds of documents to a different template (from the one they were created with) without resorting to opening each document and attaching the new template?

    Will templates in Word 2003 be usable/compatible with Word/Office 2007?  Or do we have to rewrite those document templates?

     Thank you very much for any information you can share.

    Re: Document templates

    Unfortunately not in the user interface.

    The originating template is a property of the doucment (obviously--that's how it remembers where it came from) and that can be accessed programatically.

    You'll need to code such that you "grab" onto the documents, iterate through each one, and use this line

    ActiveDocument.AttachedTemplate = "C:\Templates\Letter.dot"

    to attache the appropriate template.  Then save the doc.
