why are Web Parts so difficult?

When I first created my new Sharepoint Services site, I found that I could add a web part from the online gallery that pointed me to MSNBC. I thought that the stream of news and weather was fantastic, however, I have found that I would like similar web parts that would stream other things like a currency conversion etc. I've searched the internet to find a source from somebody that would provide such a web part, but to no avail. It would seem that I should be able to find alot of these out on the internet, but it must not be that popular. If anybody knows where I can get more online galleries of web parts, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks.
