Hi All.

I would like to know a way to email all users of the Sharepoint Site of a new announcement that was posted. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hey There,

You can achieve this by creating a distribution list and adding those users that you want.  Then when setting up alerts just setup an alert for the distribution list and all people on the list should receive the e-mail.

Thanks for the reply I will try that. But where would I create the distribution list, in Sharepoint?

Hi,

My apologizes I always presume that if people are running SPS/WSS that they have somekind of exchange server for their e-mail purposes.  I am not sure what you are using but if you are using exchange you can easily set this up through your exchange server.  You cannot setup distribution lists through SPS or WSS.
